Book Marketing Manager (Remote/Virtual Position) [South Africa]


 

The Book Marketing Manager is a motivated, energetic, and highly organized individual with excellent marketing and communication skills. A strong interest in unique product marketing, book marketing, and events management skills are preferred for this position. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Book Marketing Manager will help to develop and grow marketing book and Bible marketing strategies for Oasis.

Qualifications

  • Communicates effectively within and for a multi-cultural context. Develops and disseminates relevant messages to suit Oasis audiences in Africa and the U.S.
  • Proven work experience in books or product marketing or similar role.
  • Extremely organized with ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
  • Eager to learn more about publishing and the Oasis products (books and Bibles) in order to effectively implement marketing and communication strategies.
  • Proficient in developing marketing strategies
  • Working experience with Mass Emailing System (e.g., Emma, MailChimp)
  • Working experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress).

Responsibilities

With direction and support from the Communications Director, the Book Marketing Manager will:

  • Create and Implement Marketing Plans and Strategies: Implement launch plans and marketing campaigns for Oasis books and Bibles and support the regional sales teams to grow books and Bibles sales.
  • Advertising and Promotions: Develop marketing campaigns to support regional sales promotions including price discounts, seasonal promotions.
  • Manage Publishing and Author Brands: Maintain communication with Oasis authors pre and post book releases as well as support their marketing plans and activities while ensuring that Oasis Publishing sub-brand and Africa Study Bible brands are correctly promoted.
  • Manage and Grow Reader Database: Create on-brand, engaging email campaigns that connects audiences to Oasis’s books and Bibles.
  • Manage Publishing Website Content: Update and maintain Oasis online catalogue other publishing website content including promotion microsites.
  • Create Back Cover Copy and Marketing Stories: Develop engaging back cover copy for Oasis books.

Important Information

Post Location: South Africa (remote)

Education: BSc qualification in marketing, communications (or similar).

Preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years professional work experience in a book marketing, or advertising role.

Job Type: 40 hours per week on contract

Job Length: 1 year contract to be reviewed after 3 months

Preferred Start: June, 2023
